Pulse Timer is built around the idea that you should not have to give up your privacy to use a timer. This page explains, in plain terms, what happens with your data when you visit pulse-timer.app.
What stays only on your device
The following preferences are stored in your browser'slocalStorage under the key pulse-timer:v1. They never leave your device and are never sent to a server:
- Your theme preference (light / dark / auto)
- Your time-format preference (12-hour or 24-hour)
- Your alarm sound choice and tick sound choice
- Recently used custom durations
- Whether the first-visit hint has been dismissed
You can clear these at any time from the Help dialog ("Clear my data") or by clearing site data in your browser.
What the server sees
Pulse Timer is a static website. The site is served fromCloudflare's global CDN. Like any web request, Cloudflare logs standard access metadata for operational and abuse-prevention purposes: IP address, user agent, referring page, requested URL, and timestamp. We do not connect these logs to any identity and do not aggregate them into user profiles.
What we do not do
- We do not run analytics scripts (no Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Fathom)
- We do not set tracking cookies
- We do not have user accounts or logins
- We do not currently show advertising
- We do not sell or share data with third parties
What may change
Pulse Timer may add advertising in the future. When that happens, this page will be updated before any ad code goes live to disclose:
- Which advertising network is used (likely Google AdSense initially)
- What data that network may collect (cookies, IP address, viewing behaviour)
- How to manage your consent — visitors from the EEA, UK, and California will see an IAB TCF-compliant consent banner before any ads load
Children
Pulse Timer is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes — for example introducing advertising — will be announced on this page before they take effect.
